Designer race jackets: Something for the girls

Race-themed T-shirts and caps have never been in short supply around the track, but until recent years there wasn't a whole lot for the female fan who wanted to look, well, female.

Racing gear has been getting gradually more feminine in recent years, though -- witness this jacket from San Francisco-based entrepreneur Elizabeth Huller Eisemann.

A fitted stretch denim body is joined to quilted satin sleeves in your choice of colors, while rhinestone zippers adorn the placket and cuffs.

The finishing touches: Licensed racing patches and the embroidered Indianapolis Motor Speedway logo.

They are available in charcoal and sand at Day Furs in Carmel, and in black at the IMS gift shop, at a reduced price of $250.
